Join us for the 4th Annual BFOA Giving Day!
Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) is the only public charity devoted exclusively to supporting radio and television broadcast professionals who are battling an illness, recuperating from an accident, or recovering from a natural disaster. The BFOA has helped thousands of broadcast colleagues across the country facing these unexpected challenges.
The BFOA operates nationwide to provide an anonymous safety net, supporting broadcasting professionals facing acute financial need. Whether you're on air, behind the boards, in the office, or on the sales desk, the BFOA's sole mission is to assist all Radio & TV broadcasters experiencing significant financial hardship.
How the BFOA Helps our Colleagues
The BFOA strives to improve the quality of life of broadcast professionals and their families who are in acute financial need. Each year, the Foundation assists more than 300 broadcasters through two grant programs: monthly grants for long-term medical aid and emergency grants for disaster relief and home emergencies.

Do you know a broadcaster in need of support?
If you know a broadcaster in need of help, please contact us at grants@thebfoa.org, 212-373-8250, or visit our website, www.broadcastersfoundation.org.
Broadcasters play a vital role in our society. They deliver news, entertainment, and critical information, keeping communities connected and informed. But what happens when broadcasters themselves face unforeseen crises? That's where the Broadcasters Foundation of America steps in, providing a crucial safety net for industry professionals in times of need.
Consider the morning show personality on a Kentucky radio station, who was in the middle of evacuating from her own home in April 2025, while keeping the community together and informed as they navigated the waters of an historic flood together.
“I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the grant you awarded me after the Kentucky flood that happened back in April. This has been one of the toughest experiences of my life. Receiving this grant is not only a financial boost but also a tremendous encouragement to continue pursuing my passion in broadcasting. Losing about 90% of my stuff put a financial strain on me, but with your generosity, I'm able to start the rebuilding process with less stress! “
When disaster strikes your fellow broadcasters, you often say “What can I do to help?”
You don’t need to wait for the disaster or tragedy to strike.
You can help by giving to the Broadcasters Foundation of America every year.If every broadcaster gave $2.00 per week to the fund, think of the lifeline we could create together to benefit our colleagues and friends.
Donating to the Broadcasters Foundation is an investment in the well-being of the men and women who dedicate their careers to serving the public. When illness strikes, natural disasters hit, or personal tragedies unfold, broadcasters can find themselves facing financial hardship. The Foundation offers vital assistance, helping to cover essential living expenses, medical bills, and other critical needs during these challenging times.
Ultimately, supporting the Broadcasters Foundation of America means supporting the heart of the broadcasting industry. Please consider giving monthly, annually or in your estate planning.Call us today or visit www.broadcastersfoundation.org to get started.
