Hurricane Relief Information

The Broadcasters Foundation of America is here to help our radio and television colleagues affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Our Emergency Grant program is structured to provide expedited financial assistance to those in acute need. There are two ways to apply for help.

Apply as an Individual

Individual broadcast professionals who have experienced personal property damage or displacement due to a natural disaster can apply for an emergency grant.

Apply for your Employees

Managers can submit applications on behalf of their employees who are unable to apply themselves due to disrupted power, internet, or phone service.

Hurricane Relief Donation Match

John Catsimatidis, Owner of Red Apple Media and WABC Radio, is matching $25,000 of donations to BFOA to help fund Emergency Grants for individual broadcasters devastated by the destruction of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. "At this time of great need for colleagues catastrophically impacted by these storms, I will match the next $25,000 in donations to help them get back on their feet. I applaud all those who have already donated any amount because every dollar helps," said Catsimatidis.

In response, Florida Association of Broadcasters (FAB) has donated $25,000 to the BFOA Hurricane Helene and Milton Fund. “The Broadcasters Foundation has been a tremendous help to individuals in broadcasting who are in the greatest need of assistance from the onslaught of these back-to-back hurricanes. On behalf of FAB’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, we are proud to make this contribution,”  said Pat Roberts, President, and CEO of FAB.

We thank John Catsimatidis and everyone at the FAB for their generous contributions. But there is still time to make an even bigger impact, as our broadcasting colleagues are facing a long recovery after these two devastating storms. Please consider making a donation today.
